Hey there, everybody. Hope you're all holding up during these seriously trying times. I'm getting by, I guess.
Today I offer an old radio show I had in 1994 called Kung Fu Radio, on WRUV. By this time I was 20 years old, working at a pretty cheesy CD store, and living with my Mom because my apartment building had just burned down. Yeah, after being out on my own for a year or so I was suddenly fucked. I do sound embarrassingly obnoxious yet chipper here, though ("Scooby snacks"? UGH). Perhaps I was trying to channel my energies towards being more positive or something. I am playing a lot of F bombs carelessly here. I do remember thinking there was nothing they could do to me, I was already at the bottom.
Anyway, there's some live P-Funk, John S. Hall & Kramer, Southern Culture on the Skids, Daniel Johnston, Ween, Rocket from the Crypt, Half Japanese, etc. I was also getting into surf music at the time, which I had no idea would be everywhere several months later due to Pulp Fiction. There's also a couple of drop outs because I had to repair the tape a couple times.
